The growing threat of the Hacker
With the numerous reports and hacker activity that has been happening lately it is not hard to see that governments are concerned with these acts of cyber terrorism. Hacker groups like Anonymous and the recently disbanded LulzSec have caused havoc in the cyber community and remain a constant headache to many government and corporate websites. These hacker groups pride themselves in exposing the faults of various corporations and they have even launched cyber attacks against military and government by acquiring various data and hacking into countless numbers of official websites. PSN Update – Hacker’s Caught?
It has surfaced recently that the hacker group Anonymous were behind the PSN outage of last April. It has been stated that the Spanish police have apprehended members of the group in which they have found servers and other various equipment which suggest these individuals were part of the hack which cost Sony $173 Million in damages.
Blogs and websites alike have provided these same details but not much else is known at this time but more shall be revealed as the week progresses. It is believed that the individuals apprehended were also involved in various hacks on government and business websites also. No names have been released at present and no charges have been made public.
Also in other hacker related news, other gaming and governmental sites have suffered security breaches with hacker groups like LulzSec accepting responsibility for the recent Nintendo and even NHS cyber attacks. The news comes as no surprise and investigations are underway with both gaming companies and various other companies looking at stepping up their online security and pursuing these hackers to try to put a stop to these endless amount of cyber onslaughts
PSN still out for the count
People are counting the days passing by as we are hitting weeks into the Playstation Network outage. Frantic gamers and users wait by their consoles and check the Playstation blog only to hear that the best they have is that they are working on it…. Read the rest of this entry
Are We Safe On The Net?
On the 26th January, Mark Zuckerberg’s fan page was supposedly hacked and the hacker posted the following message: “Let the hacking begin: If Facebook needs money, instead of going to the banks, why doesn’t Facebook let its users invest in Facebook in a social way?
