The Social Networking War Begins..

On Thursday 22ndSeptember, Facebook held their F8 Developers conference in San Francisco. The conference was led by a keynote from none other than Mark Zuckerberg himself in which he previewed the latest revamp to his social network. With competition from Google+ and the common issue of social networks behaving much like fads, Zuckerberg wants to keep Facebook on top of the networking game and has introduced many new features and a complete new look for the website to keep users interested. Some of the many changes Facebook will introduce in the coming weeks are: New-look News Feed complete with Cover Photo, Timeline feed and even further integration with various Apps like Spotify and Netflix. Bold Changes in the Tech World

This last week has seen great change in the IT sector with Google’s acquirement of Motorola Mobility and HP’s decision to end its phone and tablet production. The news of Google’s latest and most influential buy came on Monday 15thAugust. The tech giant purchased Motorola Mobility for the hefty sum of $12.5 Billion. This latest acquisition of Google signals change in the patent market as Google were losing out to companies such as Apple and receiving various patent lawsuits from its smartphone rival. With Google’s purchase of Motorola Mobility the company has gained access to around 15,000 patents which will now give Google a significant upper hand in the smartphone market and allow the company’s Android devices provide stiff competition to Apple’s iPhone also. Google launched their latest project Google+ recently and the tech world is buzzing with various comments and reviews on Google’s latest development. But many question how will Google+ survive in the social networking universe with such big competitors like Facebook and Twitter dominating the internet. Google thought of this very carefully after failures with Google Buzz and Google Wave, Google focused on the aspects of social networking which are popular with users and they have even taken the disadvantages of social networks like Facebook and found solutions with their latest social project Google+. Google+ interface is quite similar to that of Facebook where users have the same sort of layout with their profile and wall to which they can see all the latest with their friends but the main advantage Google+ has over Facebookis its unique use of ‘Circles’.
